The
Main Competition for the X-cricketers, as
we had done reasonably well in last year's
competition we hoped to do even better this
season.
The first two games started
disastrously for us. We faced the two toughest
teams, Indus XI and Subcont CC, both batted
first and ended up scoring 350 (all team start
on 100) odd runs in their 14 overs, in reply
we only managed 200 something.
The next few matches were much
better we lost all of them by less then 10
runs. In most games we were chasing the score.
But our over ambitious players kept going
for a few big shots too many and kept getting
out that's why we kept losing by 10 or less
runs even when we should have won them. The
Matches were against Jardines, Oracle VIII,
Lamma CC and HKCC Casuals.
The game against Sportsmen CC was another
one sided loss for us. And we had to forfeit
the match against Fleet CC.
Our target next season is to
play a few more friendly longer matches and
try to win some games in the Summer 8s |
